Meet Molly

“It’s an honor to serve the residents of the Kansas Senate 37th district. I was first elected to the Kansas Senate in 2014. For the past six years I've represented you during many important votes in Topeka. Today, I am running for re-election to continue serving you, my neighbors.” says Molly in the very first paragraph on her About Molly page.

Her voting record tells a different story. She refused to vote in favor of the very bills she sponsored for Medicaid Expansion, Mental Health and Foster Care.

Molly Baumgardner

  • was a premier fundraiser as Miami County’s ‘Brownback for Governor’ Chair in 2010

  • was rewarded by Brownback with an appointment to fill Pat Apple’s vacant Senate position in 2014

  • remains a strong supporter of Brownback’s disastrous tax experiment.

  • cut school funding, county health and human services, and other programs to achieve Brownback’s hollowing out of state government.

  • supported tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy which shifted taxes to homeowners and small Mom and Pop businesses.

Here is a timeline of Brownback’s tax cut disaster from 2010 to the present. Since Molly Baumgardner supported this effort, Brownback appointed her to this Senate seat.
